We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Engineer to join our team in Western Region Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, maintaining compliance with local and international HSE

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of proven experience as an HSE Engineer, with strong exposure to oil & gas and civil construction projects.
  • Holder of 3rd Party Certified Accident/Incident Investigation Certificate.
  • Professional certifications preferred: NEBOSH IGC, CSP, OSHA, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, ADNOC codes of practice, and international HSE standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001) mandatory
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting HSE training, risk assessments and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with UAE laws and international standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits across oil & gas and construction projects.
  • Provide HSE training, inductions, and awareness programs for staff, contractors, and project teams.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses in compliance with regulatory requirements; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Maintain and update accurate HSE documentation, logs, and reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance on all worksites.
  • Liaise with government authorities and third-party auditors on safety and compliance matters.
  • Conduct emergency preparedness drills and develop site-specific emergency response plans.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards, oil & gas HSE regulations, and best practices.
  • Promote and embed a proactive culture of safety, accountability, and compliance within the organization.
